It is slightly embarrassing that I haven’t written about this place yet. I regularly tell people this is the best taco I’ve had in Loveland. We have been going here for many years. Of course, there are tacos I haven’t tried in Loveland, but of the ones I’ve eaten, this is my favorite.
It’s located in a nondescript strip mall on Hwy 402 near Charlie L’s Pub. It’s probably not a place you’re going to stumble onto. In fact, I went here based on the recommendation of the owners at Grimm Brothers Brewhouse. I hadn’t heard of it and, at that point, I’d lived in Loveland for 15 years.
This place has legit street tacos served up fast and fresh. I always ask for a roasted jalapeno. Three tacos will cost under $10. Taqueria Ranch Alegre also makes an excellent torta which is $11. Nothing is as cheap as it has been in the past, but that’s true everywhere.
I sometimes meet Ryan here for lunch as it is near his shop. It’s good for grab-and-go needs and I’ve actually met friends here many times.

Taqueria Ranch Alegre isn’t fancy. It’s an order-at-the-counter kind of place that does a brisk lunch business and serves menudo on the weekends.
Tacos are served in two tortillas, are generously filled with meat, and are topped with cilantro and onions. There is red and green sauce on the table and the red one is hot (for most normal people, but not me). I like all the meat here, but they do make a great barbacoa and I always get it on my torta. As far as tacos, I just sort of go through the menu getting different three types of meat on each visit.
I can always count on Taqueria Ranch Alegre to be solidly good and super fast. Honestly, in my experience, this is the kind of taco shop that puts out the most authentic street tacos.
